Social Media Management for Medical and Aesthetic Practices
Anyone can post. Almost no one posts what actually works.
We run your social like it's supposed to drive bookings, not just likes. Strategy, real content, genuine community, and reporting you can actually use. The catch nobody else will tell you: the practices that win are the ones whose feeds are real. Here's how we get you there.

The reframe
Social media isn't what it was five years ago, and most practice feeds never got the memo
For a long time, social media management meant keeping a feed busy: a few branded graphics, a stock photo of a smiling model, a caption with the right hashtags. That playbook is dead. The platforms changed the rules, and the practices still running the old playbook are quietly invisible.

								The old playbook is dead.
A few branded graphics, a stock photo of a smiling model, and the right hashtags used to be enough. Now it makes you quietly invisible.

Attention is the only metric that matters.
Instagram, TikTok, and the rest now optimize for one thing above all: holding attention. And nothing holds attention like content that feels real.

Authentic content wins, by a wide margin.
Authentic, native, in-the-room content consistently outperforms polished studio assets, and in a 2017 Stackla survey, consumers were 2.4 times as likely to call customer-created content authentic as brand-created content.[1]

Stock photography is now a negative signal.
Eyetracking research from Nielsen Norman Group shows people skip generic stock photos but study photos of real people.[2]

Your practice is already full of what wins.
Real treatments, real transformations, real staff with real personality. The job isn't to manufacture a polished feed. It's to capture what's genuinely compelling about your practice.

## Here's the truth no other agency will tell you: your feed is only as good as the content you feed it

This is the part most agencies bury, and it's the part that actually determines whether your social works. Great medical and aesthetic social runs on a steady supply of authentic content. We can manage, edit, design, schedule, and optimize brilliantly, but we cannot manufacture authenticity from an office in West Hollywood. The most effective feeds are fed by the practice.

And the research points the same way. People skip generic stock photos and study photos of real people,[2] and consumers are far more likely to call customer-created content authentic than brand-created content.[1] Real beats polished.

So here is how we work with whatever you've got. There are three honest realities, and we meet you at any of them:

If you can supply real content regularly, a staff member capturing treatments, results, and behind-the-scenes moments on a phone, that is the dream. We turn that raw stream into a high-performing, on-brand feed. This is where social actually wins, and it costs you almost nothing but a little consistency.

If you want premium content without the in-house effort, we coordinate our professional videographer and photographer for a periodic shoot, typically quarterly. In your monthly strategy meeting, we map the whole thing: the shot list, what to focus on, which treatments and stories to capture, written out and planned, so a single cinematic shoot produces a full quarter of premium content. It is a real investment, and for practices chasing a premium, elevated brand, it is the difference-maker. (We never put production pricing on a page; we'll walk you through it on a call.)

If you can't supply content right now, we still keep you present and consistent with educational graphics, carousels, repurposed assets, and design-led content. It keeps your practice visible. But we'll be straight with you: this is the floor, not the ceiling. Generic content keeps the lights on; it doesn't fill the schedule the way real content does. The practices that invest in authentic content are the ones that pull ahead.

That honesty is the whole point. We would rather tell you the truth about what great social requires and let you choose your level of investment, than sell you a polished-looking feed that quietly underperforms.

Social media is demand generation. It reaches people who weren't searching for you yet, which makes it powerful for building awareness and trust, but it also means social followers are usually earlier-stage than someone Googling "plastic surgeon near me" with intent. That's not a weakness, it's the job: social reaches new patients before they'd ever search. It just works best paired with intent-capture like [Google Ads](/services/google-ads/) and nurture like [email](/services/email-marketing/).

We're also honest about measurement. Most agencies don't have access to your patient records, so anyone promising to prove "this post booked this patient" is overpromising. We measure and report what's truthfully visible, reach, engagement, profile visits, clicks, and inquiries, and we work with your front desk on what's actually converting. Honesty about the funnel is part of how we earn your trust.

Two decades in medical + aesthetic
We've watched social change for two decades. We know what actually works now.
Plenty of agencies can run a content calendar. Fewer have spent more than twenty years marketing aesthetic and medical practices specifically, through every platform shift, watching what builds a following that books and what just collects vanity likes. Since 2003, we've learned the patterns: which content earns trust in a regulated medical space, where practices waste effort, and how to make a feed that's both compliant and genuinely compelling. We're a Google Partner and a Meta Business Partner, we work month to month with a 30-day rolling engagement, and we bring a premium, design-forward creative standard to every practice we take on. The honesty about what great social requires is part of that standard. It's why our clients trust us with the rest.

## Addressing the real concerns

### "Do I have to provide my own content?"

For the best results, yes, at least some. The most effective feeds are fed by the practice, because authentic content out-performs generic content by a wide margin. But "providing content" can be as simple as one staff member capturing quick phone clips on a shot list we give you. If you'd rather not, we offer a coordinated quarterly professional shoot, or we can run a design-led feed with what's available. We'll be honest about what each level delivers.

### "I've worked with an agency before and the content felt generic."

That's the most common complaint about medical social, and it's almost always a content-supply problem, not a talent problem. An agency with no authentic raw material can only make generic posts. We solve it at the source: we build a content plan around real material from your practice, and where you want premium, we coordinate professional production. Generic in, generic out. Real in, results out.

### "How is this different from running ads?"

Different jobs. Organic social builds an owned audience and long-term trust, it compounds and doesn't disappear when you stop paying. Paid social ([Meta](/services/facebook-instagram-ads/), [TikTok](/services/tiktok-advertising/)) buys reach now. The strongest practices run both: organic as the trust-building asset, paid as the accelerator.

### "Is social media even worth it for a medical practice?"

For aesthetic and visual specialties especially, yes. Patients research practices on social before they book, and a real, active, trustworthy feed is often the deciding factor. The caveat is that a neglected or generic feed can do more harm than none at all. Done right, it's one of the highest-trust channels you have.

What's includedWhat you're actually paying for: four jobs, done every weekStrong social management is four disciplines running together, consistently, month after month. Here is the craft we bring regardless of where the raw content comes from.

							Strategy and planning
A real content calendar built on what your patients actually search and care about, mapped to your goals (which treatments to feature this quarter, which moments to capture, what to promote). Not random posting, a plan with a point.

							Content creation
Our in-house creative team turns raw material into scroll-stopping, on-brand assets: branded graphics, short-form video edits, carousels, and captions written to drive saves, shares, and DMs. This is where your authentic content gets shaped into something that performs, and where the personality of your practice comes through.

							Community management
Real replies to comments and DMs in your brand voice, no bots, no canned responses. This is where a casual follower becomes a patient who feels seen and books. It is also where HIPAA discipline matters, which we handle (more below).

							Reporting
A monthly read on what is actually working: reach, engagement, follower growth, profile visits, link clicks, and inquiries. We measure what is honestly visible and tell you the truth about it, then use it to sharpen the next month.

## Things you can do yourself, right now, free

We mean it. Whether or not you ever hire us, these genuinely move the needle, and we'd rather you do them than not. They also happen to show you exactly how much sustained work great social really is:

- Shoot real, not stock. This is the single highest-return free move. A real smartphone clip of an actual treatment, your real team, your real space, will out-perform a polished stock image every time. People can smell stock, and it quietly costs you trust. Authentic beats polished, full stop.
- Capture content as you go, in batches. The practices that win don't stop to "make content." They keep a running habit: a 15-second clip here, a before-and-after there, a quick team moment. Designate one staff member, give them a simple shot list, and batch it. Consistency of supply beats occasional perfection.
- Post consistently, not constantly. A steady two to four real posts a week beats a burst followed by silence. The algorithm rewards practices that show up reliably. Pick a cadence you can actually sustain.
- Show faces and personality. Content with real people and a real voice outperforms sterile, corporate posts. Let your team be human. The "expert authority plus genuine personality" blend is what builds a following that actually books.
- Reply to every comment and DM, like a human. Engagement is a ranking signal and a trust signal at once. A real, prompt, on-voice reply turns a scroller into a patient. Don't let DMs sit.
- Respect the HIPAA line in public replies. Never confirm someone is a patient or name their treatment in a public comment or reply, even if they did. Under HIPAA, even confirming care is a disclosure, and practices have paid federal settlements for it. Keep public replies warm and general, and move specifics to a private message or a call.
- Use real before-and-afters correctly. They're a genuine decision point for aesthetic patients, but get written consent first, follow each platform's rules on medical/before-after content, and keep them honest and unretouched. Authentic results build more trust than perfect-looking ones.
- Caption for saves and shares, not just likes. A caption that teaches something ("here's what to expect after this treatment") gets saved and sent to a friend, which the algorithm rewards far more than a like. Lead with value.

If reading that list made social feel like a real job, that's because it is. Done well, it's a steady, skilled, every-week operation. That's exactly what we take off your plate, so you can do the work only you can do: treat patients.

FAQSocial Media Management questions, answered

**Q: What is social media management?**

Social media management is the ongoing work of running a brand's social presence: content strategy, post creation, community engagement, and performance reporting. For medical and aesthetic practices it centers on building a consistent, authentic feed that builds patient trust and drives inquiries.

**Q: What does Urge's social media management include?**

Strategy and content calendars, in-house creative production (graphics, short-form video edits, carousels, captions), community management in your brand voice, scheduling across the platforms that fit your practice, and honest monthly reporting on reach, engagement, growth, and inquiries.

**Q: Do I need to provide my own photos and videos?**

For the strongest results, some authentic content from your practice helps a great deal, because real content outperforms stock and generic posts. This can be simple phone captures from a staff member using a shot list we provide. For practices that want premium content without the in-house effort, we coordinate a professional videographer and photographer, typically on a quarterly basis.

**Q: Which platforms do you manage?**

The ones that fit your practice and patients, commonly Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. We focus effort where your specific audience actually engages rather than spreading thin across every platform.

**Q: Can you guarantee a certain number of new patients from social?**

No honest agency can. Social media is demand generation that builds trust and inquiries over time, and most agencies can't see all the way to a booked patient. We measure and report what's truthfully visible, reach, engagement, profile visits, clicks, and inquiries, and work with your team on what converts.

**Q: How is organic social different from paid social ads?**

Organic social builds an owned audience and compounding trust over time. Paid social buys immediate reach and stops when the budget stops. They work best together: organic as the long-term asset, paid as the accelerator.

**Q: Do you require a long-term contract?**

No. Urge engagements are month-to-month, with the only requirement being 30 days' notice of cancellation.

**Q: Does this work for my specialty?**

Our core is aesthetic and cosmetic medicine, MedSpas, dermatology, and plastic surgery, and we also manage social for dental, OB/GYN, ophthalmology, and general practice. Visual and aesthetic specialties tend to see the strongest returns, because their work is inherently shareable.
