Marketing Operations Manager

Established and prosperous marketing agency seeks an experienced leader with a successful background in marketing operations and people development. The ideal candidate will possess superb leadership, communication, marketing and organizational skills to lead and grow a group of professional marketers and support staff.

This critical role is instrumental in developing a seamless experience for our clients – from on-boarding to execution of quality work, analytics and ensuring positive marketing outcomes. With ultimate accountability for client results, this role requires proven experience within the marketing space and building best practices to lead the team to success.

Responsibilities Overview

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of marketing services (Strategy, Email, Social Media, SEM, PPC, Copy, SEO, Web +)
  • Maintains marketing teams by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure and diverse work environment; developing personal growth opportunities
  • Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedure
  • Drive ongoing process improvement initiatives, including identification, design and implementation of processes that unlock value and enable the team to be more effective, efficient and deliver measurable results for our clients
  • Track and maintain project timelines, resources, tasks and deliverables via Asana and other agency tools
  • Ensure that marketing team is deploying best-in-class strategy and execution of campaigns, aggressively testing to improve ROI and achieving desired results
  • Conduct regular internal meetings with Account Managers, creatives and support staff to review and prioritize projects, provide feedback and eliminate roadblocks
  • Work with Account Managers to translate client goals into strategic, savvy and effective marketing plans
  • Spearhead team-building events, employee recognition, etc. to maintain our strong company culture
  • Management strategy and execution to support growth of agency, client accounts, and teams
  • Play a role in speaking to clients, understanding needs, solving problems, and strategizing to achieve results
  • Work closely with business development for successful onboarding of new clients and cross-selling
  • Retain and grow client relationships alongside strengthening corporate referrer partnerships
  • Conduct account presentations, pitches, analytics and meetings
  • Special projects, as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of agency experience in client servicing and/or account management
  • 3+ years of agency operations management experience
  • Deep knowledge of marketing data, systems, tools/platforms and processes
  • Excellent leadership, organizational and professional management skills
  • Superb verbal, written and client-facing communication skills
  • Ability to project manage multiple high-priority accounts in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to build strong, trusted relationships with both internal and external business partners and direct reports
  • Ability to work in our West Hollywood location – no relocation assistance available
